FRIENDS OF LIVING EARTH FARM E-CUSTOMER PROGRAM IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY MORE E-CUSTOMERS THIS SEASON.

Living Earth Farm grows hundreds of varieties of over fifty vegetables, herbs and fruits, along with prairie and old fashioned garden flowers. All produce is grown using safe sustainable methods. We sell eggs from our small flock and we partner with Greengold Acres for additional eggs. The program provides semi-customized weekly orders for a select number of E-Customers. It’s like going to a Farmers’ Market and picking out what you want each week while having the convenience of shopping from your computer. We do the planting, caring, harvesting, cleaning and boxing. We are not a reseller of organic products bought from wholesalers. We actually grow your food. This program is not a CSA subscription (this is when the farmer grows for a select number of households and you pay upfront for the whole season and the farmer decides what goes in your box each week.)

HOW IT WORKS:

  • Each week you receive an E-Newsletter with information on what’s ready for harvest, recipes, storage tips, nutrition, food history and news from the farm. The season runs April 30 through Nov 1. (27 weeks)

  • Each week we pick two products which need to come out of the field. For example one week it may be a head of heirloom lettuce + a bunch of green onions, the next week it may be ¾ lb carrots and 2 summer squash.

  • Each week two products (only vegetables/fruits) will go into your shopping cart which will go toward your total minimum order. We will keep these items to familiar tried and true favorites.

  • You add what you want to complete your shopping cart by shopping online at our web site www.livingearthfarm.com. Orders are due two days before delivery. Cut-off time is Monday noon for orders delivered to Peoria - Wednesday noon for on farm pick-up.

  • There is a $15.00 minimum order of fresh produce, herbs or flowers per week for orders going to Peoria (this includes the two products needing to come out of the field) and $12.00 minimum order per week for on-farm pick up orders.

  • You pay on line with a PayPal account when you order or by check or cash at time of pick up.

DELIVERY:

Your food and flowers are delivered to a centrally located drop site in Peoria. (Site to be determined) Delivery will be Wednesdays with pick-up between 5-6 p.m. When the Peoria Heights Market at Heritage Square opens Wednesday June 18 – September 24 (4:30 – 7 pm) you will pick up your order at our booth between 4:30 – 6:30 pm.
On farm order pick up is Friday, 4– 6 pm.

QUESTIONS:

What if you go on vacation for a week or two? I prefer you turn over your account to a friend or family member to continue ordering; however, if that’s not feasible, please let me know a week in advance. If you want the freedom to vacation longer I recommend you pass on becoming an E-Customer. You can always sign-up for the weekly E-Newsletter which will keep you informed of all the food and farm news and what we will bring to the Peoria Heights Market and extra produce available for sale on farm. However, produce going to market may or may not be what is available to our E-Customers.

Not sure you will need or can use a minimum of $15.00 of fresh produce, herbs, flowers, eggs per week? Make plans to share your weekly order with friends or family.
Can I change where I pick up my order from Peoria to on-farm? Yes. Just let us know ahead of time.

What if I can’t make it to pick up my order at the Peoria site within the one hour pickup time? Call me on my cell phone to make other arrangements. If I don’t receive a call, your order will be charged to your account.

What if I must move out of town or I can no longer do the E-Customer Program? We would hate to loose you, but we understand unpredictable things happen. Please let me know so I can drop you from the program and find another household who wishes to be added.

PRICE OF PRODUCTS:

Our prices reflect a fair price for labor to customize orders and cost of inputs needed to stay in business. However, we do not try to compete with organic Wal-Mart prices or other larger corporations buying from large California, Arizona or foreign farm sources. Our products are not high priced. They are priceless.

REFUND & RETURN POLICY:

We guarantee our quality. If you are not satisfied with the quality of any product you receive, please contact us and we will provide a credit to be used toward a future order or a refund to your account. Given the perishable nature of our products there are no returns.

WHAT WILL BE AVAILABLE EACH WEEK?

This will vary each week. Below are examples of seasonal weekly lists. However, to see the extensive crops we grow download the EAT SEASONALLY HARVEST CALENDER.(PDF)

HARVEST HELPERS:
This is a great way to get $50.00 off your season orders. You volunteer for 2 hours, 4 consecutive weeks on Monday or Tuesday evening or Friday morning. What a great way to see how your food is really grown. We will also accept Harvest Helpers to help unload and set up the market tent and put out food for our Peoria Heights Market booth display on Wednesdays for one hour prior to opening.

If you really want to help more and earn enough sweat equity to pay for your $15.00 or $12.00 minimum weekly order for the whole season please contact me at 309-245-7517.

ADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF BEING AN E-CUSTOMER: E-Customers have first opportunity to sign up for special programs at reduced cost or free. This includes educational “Country Sprouts Program” for kids, Gourmet Dinners on the Prairie and Harvest Potlucks. Plus all e-customers can be a part of the Prairie Bouquets Club (for every 5 bouquets you buy the 6th one is free)
